Nogi Jiu-Jitsu, a martial art, has evolved over time. The original style of Jiu-Jitsu revolves around the use of the gi, or kimono, beginning in Japan and later Brazil. Specifically, Nogi Jiu-Jitsu focuses on grappling in the aspect of self defense and being a combat sport. In turn, it often becomes a lifestyle for those who stay committed from the get-go. Nogi Jiu-Jitsu promotes the fact that a smaller or weaker person can defend themselves well against a bigger and stronger person through technique and functional strength. It’s proven an amazing tool for developing the ability to effectively defend yourself, improve one’s self confidence and provide a source for healthy and significant weight loss.
INTRO TO NOGI JIU-JITSU
Intro to Nogi Jiu-Jitsu is a 16 week program M T & W at 6pm. This class teaches the basic techniques for our Nogi Jiu-Jitsu Program. This class is required to take prior to taking our Nogi Jiu-Jitsu classes. If you are unable to train M T & W at 6pm and are available to train in our 6am classes or our Noon classes that is perfectly fine.
Muay Thai a combat sport of Thailand uses stand-up striking. Physical and mental discipline includes “the art of eight limbs” (combining fists, elbows, knees, kicks, and blocks) to increase efficiency of a full-contact stand-up fighter.
